I personally would have the same response as OP. This is not a situation like when are checked in and then you check out and are retroactively erroneously charged for the minibar (which has happened to me and I assume a fair number of others). This is someone who never actually checked in so it seems incredibly odd for such a charge to be assessed under a usual no show.
