I was in Bali for more than 3 weeks last month. I never felt any sort of security concerns the whole time. The first time I went to Bali was the day they exploded a bomb in front the Jakarta Aussie embassy more than a decade ago. No problems then, either.

As someone who lives in Indonesia at least 6 months a year, it's actually pretty safe.
