I was flying around Canada last year..I got entry into the Maple leaf lounge in Calgary and Toronto airports using the letter, but it lot depends on who is at lounge entrance some of them refuse outright, like the check in agent when I asked to put the priority tag saying that unless i have card she will not do it.
