Make sure you pick up the variables with $4.95 in fees. I wasn't paying attention one time and I accidentally bought two with the $5.95 fees instead.

I've used the $5 WG GC freebie to offset the VGC fees on a future purchase before. YMMV. But lately, I've been using them on certain items that are on sale that I also need.
