I am going over to see my girlfriend in Washington and as was thinking of taking over some true British fayre with me..Newcastle Brown Ale!

As I would be taking the bottles with me would these pass the security at LHR or if I am forced to put them in the hold will they nicely explode all over my clean clothes?

A bit of a daft question really but have never had to take bottles of beer on a flight before so it is not so stupid!
