Perhaps the rail operators should take the Swedish government to court over the matter. If someone had built a business model up in line with certain international legal representations that were then unilaterally wrecked by one national government, then they should be looking at their legal options.

I find it disappointing that something that took so long to build up and was working well enough can get wrecked so quickly and easily by those who either don't use it or barely consider it as so fundamental to the socio-economic vitality of the region.
