You are lucky with your bank - mine will still charge me $2 per ATM transaction outside the country, *plus* an additional $2 for a "foreign exchange surcharge" per transaction.
Needless to say, when I was in Europe in February, I didn't use my ATM card, and still saved money exchanging the cash I carried over what my bank would have charged.
