The news from Hyatt was very non-specific and I just finished going over our story in Frequent Business Traveler with our news editor (we are staffed very thin this week due to the holiday).
Hyatt neither said when it occurred nor when it was uncovered. Also, issuing a news release at the close of the business day seems to have been intended to lighten the blow in terms of potential coverage.

Hyatt Reports Malware on Computers Used to Process Guest Payments
Hyatt Hotels said that it had discovered malware on the computers it uses for payment processing at its hotels and resorts.
“The company launched an investigation and engaged leading third-party cyber security experts,” the hotelier said in a statement. The Chicago-based hotel chain said it was taking steps to improve security, adding that “customers can feel confident using payment cards at Hyatt hotels worldwide.”...
