France may have numerous underemployed full time paid civil servants, but isn't this marginal compared to the number of PAF policemen required to screen all Schengen pax all the time?
Transferring all Schengen passengers to the Western concourse would lead to unacceptable queues, unless you increase the number of controllers dramatically (or build booths at the Eastern concourse); but where would these extra PAF policemen come from? Up to now, there were none at 2F.
Think about the work needed to reroute all PAX at CDG 2D & 3 as well as Orly.
Then all the PAF needed must be working somewhere else in normal times, don't you think?
The guys who screened me yesterday must have been coming from somewhere where they will ultimately be missed, no?
That is to say that hopefully they will overhaul Schengen, deploy Frontex at our Southern borders and things will be back to normal at 2F.
