Just want to make a smart move as, for example, JAL would work for US/Canada bound flights but not really for Europe.
Regionally, as said, I might go with best offer (but not too keen on TG, PAL!).

Will look at options and happy to hear advise from others who have made the jump.
If you hit DM renewal within 8 months, then you can probably come close to top tier in CX and another airline. You may want to look at that before jumping ship 100%.

I've done that with a SkyTeam carrier, because there was little incentive before not to do so. (I may shift more business back to CX this year to earn the DM upgrades @ 1600 points. If I can reliably book HKG - NYC J -> F upgrade 2x a year for me and wife, that is worth some loyalty from me. If it remain as big a crapshoot as trying for a mileage upgrade to F, I won't bother. )

CX has its good points, which one appreciates a bit more when spending more time on other carriers. It also can accentuate the areas where CX is weak (e.g. catering).

I've also moved some business to other OW carriers, but crediting to CX (eg JL on Japan flights - better food, and no J class seat lottery).
