Standard practice that they tag all bags in one travelling group under one of the pax - saves time and in the vast majority of cases, no problems result

I think your bag is cursed if this bag keeps going missing though

It doesn't matter - Worldtracer has a bag description, and the ground agents encounter this situation often (name on tag not the same as name on bag itself). You must be sure to give an accurate description of the bag though!
