Here's the answer to whether the BRG rate will match a price offered at Living Social...maybe. I put in a request, HH matched it within 24 hours. Then, I found I needed to make another trip to the same place, the Living Social deal was still available and was good that night...so I put in another request to HH, 4 days before my travel. When it got to be within an hour of the cancellation deadline and I hadn't heard (and the rate on the Hilton website was fully $200 more than the LS deal), I called the Diamond HH line. The CSR had no clue about these things, and initially took the position that the only rates that would be matched were rates available on Hilton websites (this makes no sense at all!). After putting me on hold for 10 minutes, she came back with "we won't match Living Social, only hotel websites like hotels.com". Well, that's not what the BRG terms say, but whatever. I cancelled my reservation, and found, not surprisingly, that because HH had taken so long to get back to me, the LS deal was no longer available. So, I'm booked at the Hyatt, at a rate a whole lot closer to the LS rate than the Hilton rate. Hilton sometimes really has a gift....
