I made cx reservation from lax to Hong Kong in business flying out tomorrow night. This morning I saw first class open and called aa to upgrade. It went through but my reservation still says on request. I called and they said its in the process and I should get email shortly. Well so far nothing.

My questions are: if it still says on request, and when I go to CX counter, will they be able to give me ticket or not? If not, do I lose my biz reservation too?

First time doing cx through aa award miles so I'm not sure what to expect when it comes to change ticket a little over 24 hours before departure like this. Thank you.
