We have a winner! As a Diamond, I chose 4 GUC's for one of my 2nd choice benefits. So, in the past, I have upgraded JFK-SIN on a $875.00 fare. If Delta sees that they can sell D1 without the need to pamper to Diamonds, what would they rather have? Some non elite pay $6K or a Diamond paying $875? Finding OP inventory is back to being nearly impossible to S/E Asia. I am waitlisted on flights that are totally wide open for a trip to SIN. DL prefers to sell those seats as opposed to 'giving' them away. We are in the midst of seeing the Delta Skymiles program being gutted. Delta only sees $$$$ and doesn't care about loyalty anymore otherwise they wouldn't have made this change.
