I have three cards currently, 2 inquiries in the past year, FICO scores of about 760. Some people/resources advocate applying for many cards at once. Some people report success applying for 10+ cards at once, and some older guides suggest to apply for tons of cards at once (like the one churning guide that calls for 1 personal and 1 business per bank).
But then there is talk of greater scrutiny by the banks, especially by Chase. There is talk of chase cc/bank accounts being shutdown. What is the current consensus regarding how many apps it is safe to make at once? If I apply for the Chase cards first, will Chase find out about the later applications?
I personally don't think you should do anything more than double your card count on a single day. This isn't a sprint. So if you have 1 card, apply for 1 card in one day. Since you have three cards, following this rule you wouldn't apply for more than three cards in one day. Keep in mind that you always want your earliest cards to be fee-free to convertible to fee-free cards to keep them.
