Hmm, this comes off as quite dismissive to the two posters above, I hope you didn't mean it that way. Furthermore, I'm not sure who this "someone" might be that you seem to want a guarantee from. Of course plenty of travelers who've used TWOV have done it at PVG, in both directions and on a return ticket. Not sure why you are so uneasy about this. This itinerary meets the Chinese requirements and they don't care whether you're on a single all-inclusive ticket or if every single flight segment is ticketed separately. They don't care if you are in your destination AKL for one hour, one week, or one month. It's all about the flights into and out of China, each time through is a new journey. The ticket should also clearly satisfy any concerns posed by airline check-in staff, though some may need to look up TWOV in their TIMATIC database.
