Can you clarify why it is harder to earn TPs under the new system? I thought that one of the main purposes of the MPC revamp was to reward frequent flyers who fly in the premium classes. Shouldn't it then be easier to earn the TPs (toward whatever tier) under the new system?
For example, I have an upcoming trip in December in JL business class (TPE-NRT-YVR return), and I am thinking of holding off crediting to MPC now, and just apply for retroactive credit past 15.Apr.2016.
Under current MPC scheme, I would only get 4 x 1.25 = 5 sectors. This is 5/80, or 6.25%, towards Diamond. Under the new MPC scheme, I would get 25+60+60+25 = 170 TPs. This would be 170/1200, or 14.17%, towards Diamond. That's a big difference and the new MPC scheme seems to reward me better.
