I have a number of OW flights coming up this month and next. All in premium classes, so should be nice when the Tier Points system comes into play.

My membership year is due to reset end of December. I already have like 160k+ miles and 90+ sectors, so I'm not worried. However since they're changing the program next year, I want to get a head start on the renewal.

I'm thinking of removing my mileage on my next few flights in November and then come December 1st, reset my tier to a new year, so then my new membership year is December 2015 - December 2016 (like it is currently if I don't manually reset). Then I perform a retro credit for the flights I'm taking later this month, and for my flights in December I don't have to retrocredit (since I would be in my new membership year).

Did I think this out correctly?
