Bingo! I suspect this is more in line with to the real reason than anything else posted here.
So, playing devil's advocate here, why do any airlines put in wifi? Are you suggesting that they are profiting off of that decision?

I'm pretty sure you can't cite this, so I won't ask you too, but my gut would tell me that I disagree. I don't think BR, UA etc are profiting off of their wifi program.
