So the line at TBIT TSA to get to the *Gold Lounge, then again at T-6 adds some considerable time. For longer layovers I would totally agree. However, in my opinion its just not worth it if you have the morning departure at 10:30 LAX-PTY.. If there was a way to transfer from TBIT to T-6 in the sterile area that would be much better.. Correct, if you want to stay connected airside, TBIT doesn't work (at least not yet)
In my limited experience, there's not much of a line at TBIT security at that hour, but YMMV.
