He need the computer to do some of his school assignments. In his case, he also learn math a lot better with khan academy.
FWIW, I found some solution. OSX parental control still have lots of bugs. I finally able to block youtube on Safari, but not on Chrome or firefox, eventhough osx parental control block other websites on chrome & firefox. Thus, I block his access to other internet browser except safari. I still have to put some weird ip address on my whitelist even when I have put the website address on my whitelist.
