My mom last week was flying Bos-iad-ord-fnt.

Washington to Chicago was on a rolling mx delay basis, causing her to eventually miss the ord-fnt flight. She asked to be put on AA but was denied, and decided on getting put on iad-Dtw and driving up to flint. While in the air her iad-ord finally cancelled after a delay of 5 hours (why a plane is at 5 hour delay and not cancelled is beyond me).

She also lost out on her confirmed CPU (iad-Dtw on a crj 700, no space open).

She wrote to customer care asking primarily to have the car refunded, as I told her she wouldn't get any downgrade comp since Bos-iad was in first.

Customer care wouldn't reimburse her for the car (which was $89 I think), but did offer a $100 travel voucher.
