You may not consider the cocktail hour at the St Paul ES a positive experience. The atrium is very small so very chaotic and long lines on weekends for cocktails. While the location is good, its not great and St Paul has less dining options than Minneapolis. As a positive, the rooms have been remodeled within the last two years.

Another option to consider is the Hilton Marquette in Minneapolis. Much nicer hotel with more dining options within a short walk if that is an interest of yours. It also has an Executive lounge that you should be able to access as a gold.
