Ah yes, true, on my flights most of the elites in Y were sitting in the front row of the Y cabin. Status recognition seemed to work well, the purser came and introduced herself to the elites and chatted a bit and they also distributed noise-cancelling headphones.

I have no idea what could be wrong. I know for a fact that I've done the seat selection online on CX's website but things might have changed after August. Have you put in the e-ticket number as well as the PNR? MMB only unlocks certain settings after putting in the e-ticket number (due to security reasons).
