I will be getting Copa silver through my credit card. I know its not much but if I am using United miles for tickets with Copa how do I have the chance of getting upgraded? I fly at off times as I am 4 hours from pty so there are always a lot of business class seats available. Does United status match? Do my traveling partners have a chance at getting upgraded? Going forward I will be earning Connect Miles on paid trips and some credit card spend so it will be less of an issue. But now I have about a million United and UR miles to use.
Silver gets upgraded quite a bit. I was 10/11 CPUs as a silver on Copa in 2014/2015. If there are seats left and you are the only silver on the list at T-24, you will get upgraded. They give the seats away before selling/releasing the "auction" $$$ upgrades.
How much is the yearly fee for the credit card? Is it the one that comes with Priority Pass and all that? I could find no details of the annual fee anywhere on the informational sites
