My YYZ-SFO last night had wifi, but they wanted $22 CAD.
After paying $10 and $11 for SFO-YUL/YUL-SFO, I felt that was a little pricey. Also, an all-day pass from Gogo is only $16 USD, which is less than $22 CAD (and if I'd had a connection, I would have pre-purchased that).
I wonder how they determine the price to offer. It certainly isn't by flight length. And they've shot themselves in the foot after selling it for $10 on one of the longest transcons if they expect me to pay twice that on a shorter one.
