I'm at IAD connecting on flight 803 to NRT today. About 5 minutes after checking in at the UC, I was paged over the intercom and asked to come to the front where they told me that I was a 1K traveling in paid Business Class and invited me to GFL. Handed me a printed boarding pass and the ticket to GFL. This trip is a 3-leg to SIN in fare classes F, P, and P.

I told the agent in the UC, that I wasn't sure if this promotion was still going on, and specifically asked her if this was part of the "Surprise and Delight" campaign, and she said, "yes it's definitely part of that campaign." Then she said that she had heard that the next part of this campaign (coming soon) would be to provide instant upgrades (at time of booking) for full fare BF to GF.

I joked that full fare BF is about 1% cheaper than GF and sometimes more expensive than discounted GF, and she laughed and said "good luck".
