I immediately went to the nearest Admirals Club (the FS Lounge in MIA was closed). Unlike the other AA passengers, I can access the AC with my CX status. The AA agent was very helpful, made all arrangements for us (including the checked baggage), got us four first row seats for the flight the next morning, got us the hotel and meal vouchers. If I didn't have lounge access, we would spend an hour or two at the AA counter waiting for whatever they can do for us.
To clarify for others who may not be familiar - one needs to be CX Gold (OWS) or above to access. CX SL (OWR) doesn't give you access to Admirals Club.
Further clarification - AA EXP (OWE), AA Plat (OWS), and domestic F passengers cannot access AA lounge for those flights by CoS or status. So there were very few passengers on the delayed flight who could get help in the Admirals Club. To that end, I am glad that I had MPC status (DM/OWE at that time).
