I had a stay in July that has not posted.
I've used the Missing Stay feature on the website twice, and received different explanations for why the stay is not eligible:
- Overlapping stay
- Room rate not eligible; room was booked through hh.com, not a special rate
This stay did overlap: I left the hotel one night before checkout to travel onwards, while my wife stayed the extra night.
Any suggestions on how I can get (partial?) credit for this stay? Calling the 1-800 number has not been helpful (yet?).

Because you have an overlapping stay, you technically have no grounds to claim the subsequent stay. Are you missing the earlier stay, the latter stay or both? How much points are we talking here? If you subsequent stay is only for a night and that is the missing stay, I would say let it go.
Btw, what you might want to consider for future stays in order to avoid overlaps is by checking out at the first hotel and having your wife check back in under her own name. You could arrange to keep the same room and even split the bill.\ when you first check in. Let them know it is for business expense reasons. that way, you will not run afoul of the program terms of trying to get credit when you are not at the said hotel.
