Well, I've sent a message to Chase, and I'll come back and post after I find something out. Although I may not end up with a definitive answer as to when the 24-month clock starts.
I'm hoping that I will at least qualify if it's 24 months between bonuses, rather than 24 months between last bonus and opening a new account.
