The Global First Lounge at LHR is such an unusual treat for United it's confusing. It's the type of thing that with only having UC experiences I'm blown away by the food and service but I'm pretty sure any BA, Singapore, etc lounge for all travelers is just as nice. Even GFL in HKG is barely a step up from the normal UC. More like the IAD experience.
That being said, flying LHR to IAD in C and getting into GFL because of global services is a very nice perk. The number of people who have access to UC is just too many. Star gold and credit card holders at any hub will overwhelms the lounge. If they do get rid of GF then I hope they have a 1k and higher lounge take the GFL lounge place.
