Thanks all. Some interesting comments and theories about the promo and of course it's always fun to guess AC's strategies.
As far as upgrades go, specifically on Dom or TB, it must be nice if you have Lat Passes and such. Makes like simpler to do them. Or, if you or your employer pay for higher Flex, or Lat and if you're flying on a route with lots of empty J seats.
While this thread is about the Fall Promos of extended window and possibly fewer credits (for some fliers), it is also about the upgrade issue.
I'm not going to guess about whether AC's strategy of cutting the number of credits we earn while also increasing the number of credits we need, was a good idea.
But looking at this on a recent flight to LAX, well........
This flight had 7 pax in a 42 seat cabin. I also know that on another morning, there were 3 in J in the 24 seat swapped-in 763.
There are other flights I've been on as well, but 6 J pax in a 14 seat 320 does not look nearly like this:
Anyway, what was it you were all saying about upgrade availabilities?
