According to the local news, the compensation via inflight sales vouchers 150 to 250 SGD seems to be the standard procedure plus an upgrade voucher to PEY for a future flight or cancelation for free plus upgrade voucher.
so why not just cancel, get the upgrade vouchers, then rebook economy fare (whether with SQ or someone else)?

Besides, what solution is "acceptable" to you? PE is just not available, so there's not much you can do if you really wanted a PE seat (on that, take it from me that SQ PE is not worth the money - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/singa...-thoughts.html ). And forget about getting a seat in J. That just is not going to happen. Ever.

So cancel, get your full refund, get your upgrade voucher, then rebook. I don't see what the issue is.
