All FTs should experience supersonic flying!

About twelve years ago I was in Europe with a BA return Y ticket with noon departure back to the States. Two days prior, I was able to arrange a long sought MAJOR potential customer appointment for the afternoon. But I simply had to be in NYC the following morning.

Needless to say I "justified" (without any problems) trading in the ticket for the 6PM Concorde flight. It was a long time ago; but I don't believe there were later regular flights. In any case, I did it!

I am sure it cost me less than $1K for the difference. In those days Y was not discounted and the Concorde was nothing like as expensive as today.

I too have the Certificate; but long ago my "ego wall" was never replaced after an office move. The paper luggage tags wore out. But I still fondly remember arriving home in Manhattan before I departed London.

I have been flying extensively on business and pleasure, both domestic and international, for over 50 years; and I take a degree of pride in having flown on every civilian aircraft since WWII (with the exception of the Comet) - even two USSR aircraft which I would prefer to forget.

I hate to see the Concorde grounded. It is a truely magnificent bird. I hope it gets back in the air so that all the FT brethren get a least a possible chance to go supersonic.
