I did some history search and found some information:
The nowadays CP was formerly Hesperia, opened in 1972 and started by HOK, closed in 2004 for renovations and reopened as Crowne Plaza in 2005.
The nowadays Scandic was formerly InterContinental, opened as well in 1972 and later fully owned by Finnair (later Arctia)! The interesting part I did not know, but now I understand why the Finnair bus stops there (still, after all the years???) as only stop before central station.
By the former Intercontinental I was lead to the history of Arctia:
Arctia was a Finnish government-owned sister company of Alko (the liquor store of governmnet) grounded in 1935, ceased in 1997 when it sold its operations to Scandic. Arctia was founded in 1935 as Alkon Kansanravintolat (Alko People's Restaurants), after the Alcohol Prohibition Act 1932. Later Arctia went on to hotel businesses. Even the nowadays Hilton Kalastajatorppa was incorporated in 1952. Then they wanted to get rid of "alcohol" and switched name to "United Restaurants". Hotel Marski (now Scandic) was constructed 1962 and even gourmet restaurant Savoy was taken 1974. Then they also went to Travel business with Motorest stations. Even the Näsinneula tower restaurant in Tampere is started by Arctia in 1972. They built the Marina Palace in Turku (now Radisson), just to name few landmarks in Finland. These are only few mentions of numerous take-overs and buildings they grounded in history, which I seemingly was too young to know
