Agree. Shocked that the hotel thinks 5k for a 2-night stay is reasonable compensation for this. Completely false advertising on Hilton's part. If I'd paid for this room using points, it would have been 220k for the stay (as a point of reference .... 5k/220k = 2.7% compensation.) I did, however, pay $ for the stay. If this had been another hotel, I think they would have done something close to a free night's equiv of points ... or at least a a good share of one. (something for both the downgraded room and goodwill.) Contacted hotel and they said 5k is their best/only offer. Have escalated to corporate.
