I'm not even sure the OP's logic would stop at Marriott hotels. Maybe next time I'm in Dallas I'll stay at the Sheraton and take the skyway over to the Marriott and use the lounge there... Of course, like you, I would never think of doing this. It's just bizarre. When I book at a CY, SHS, FI, or RI, I know what I'm getting, and what I'm not getting (a lounge). Folks who've read my posts over the years know that I like to see if hotels will go above and beyond for me (upgrades, three in the lounge without extra charges, etc.) but this is going too far.
