The linked discussion is unsettled; not clear if Delta intends no more biz-class in one direction and coach in the other at the sum of the two halves as one-way awards. Delta's own wording is a head-scratcher.

You definitely can get one-way awards with a mixture of coach and biz-class but the entire trip priced as biz-class. Personally, I would never book such a thing unless the coach segment is fairly short.
