Unless you upgrade to one of their suites, I can't recommend the Monte Carlo. Their standard rooms are tiny. I'm talking "go out into the hall to change your mind" tiny. The "closet" doesn't have a door (its the motel 6 style polished metal bar in a recessed part of the wall near the bathroom). The theme of the hotel is boring, bordering on non-descript. On the plus side, the location is good, the Lance Burton magic show is excellent, and they have a nice brew pub.
The MGM is a better property in that neighborhood (avoid the emerald tower) as is the NY NY. I'd also recommend the Luxor, the rooms are slightly bigger, and how often do you get the chance to stay in a Pyramid?
