AA Award Question CJC-SCL-PUQ

I had put an award on-hold CJC-SCL-PUQ (connection is SCL is 2 hours) and was told it costs 12K miles per person - this is a solely domestic Chilean itinerary in economy class by LAN.

I argued because this is wholly within Chile, according to AA award chart, it should cost 6K per person.

After consulting with her supervisor, she was convinced by agreeing 6K/pax and tickets were sent to ticketing process. I thought this is it.

I was wrong.

Two days later I got an email asking me to call back AA and basically was told LAN declined to confirm seats on both flights. As to the reason, the AA agent told me AA ticketing review desk has put a dreadful note "no published fare" on my booking. In order to travel this itinerary, I would have to pay two awards, i.e., 6K+6K.

Well, this is not true - on LAN's website, I can directly price this CJC-SCL-PUQ at $1,000+ per pax.

How to fight this BS?
