You guys have been wonderful clearing up all my confusion (and queries ). It makes absolute sense to go for the SBI AI Signature card and shift my current Citibank expenses to the former .. eventually gaining on the bonus points/miles.

I had bugged EthanHunt for a confirmation ...I am putting up the same query here for the wider audience:

So, what exactly is the point of all those bonus points/miles (i.e. 20k,50k)? My understanding is that we CANNOT use them to move up the FFP Tiers (Silver, Gold, Platinum), but we CAN only use them to claim free air tickets and other merchandise (vouchers, gifts)?

The above is kind of the final nail in the coffin, rather my final query!!
