Is AUH-DFW-ORD a valid routing with EY? If it is, call AA and see if it can just append the DFW-ORD segment to your held AUH-DFW segment.
Why does DFW layover matter?? The published fare is between origin and destination. You can route however you want (in accordance with region based exceptions) and keeping within MPM.... or so I think.
