Only if you need something from them, such as a priority tag. Otherwise, direct to US security.

Now since I already cle[ared US Customs in YYC, I would assume that I will not need to exit SFO to obtain my luggage and go through the process again for ANA? Or am I wrong?
No. Your luggage will be checked throughout at YYC.
