If you were to 'miss' that flight, all other tickets could be cancelled... And tge costs to buy same day seats could be thousands.

Without more details and expertise, you should buy the $80 lax-sfo flight. If it isn't on aa, then make sure you have plenty of time to connect at lax prior to the next leg.
