1. The question is whether this is one or multiple tickets, not one or multiple PNR's. There is a key difference here as you appear to have booked through some third-party vendor (Google doesn't sell tickets, so you didn't book with Google).
Google flights sends you to the airline's website for the purchase once you've selected your itinerary. So the tickets are likely booked directly through American.
