Not really. My Discover card did not work at any of the McDonald's restaurant. It. did not work at several malls. China has cut out Visa and Mastercard and gives limited access to discover cards. Union Pay is monopoly in China and some of their networks are Chinese issued cards only. Whereas Union Pay cards work everywhere in the US.
