I can see the list of upgrade requests in the US but wouldn't it be quite embarrassing to 'ask' for an upgrade
Well, I asked for an upgrade (with miles) at the lounge once, and was told since it's still 5 hours to the flight, he couldn't upgrade me, BUT he would put me on the shortlist because the flight is quite full anyway.
Was told to come back around 1 hour before flight and check if I've been upgraded anyway or if a paid upgrade is in order....
.. sadly by the time I went back, this lovely man was gone and replaced by a rather more surly person, who didn't seem to pay attention to any shortlisting or the possibility of being op-upped, and just went through with the miles upgrade.
