So far my first attempt has been a bit of a disappointment, but I see a lot of potential.
Pros:
- If executed well, no worrying about forgetting my keycard/demagnetizing/etc.
- Great way to remember my room number since the latest app update seems to erase it every time it logs out (which it now does after periods of inactivity)
Cons:
- Check-in on my mobile did not work
- The app update now logs you out constantly and does not remember your password - this is a hassle since I now need to type my full e-mail (a very long one), password, and navigate through several screens to get to the key.
- Actual success rate using it on my door has been about 30%. It has only worked in the elevator which requires a key once.
- All of these glitches are somewhat annoying, but if they can fix the key ones (app logout and not remembering login info, elevators seeming to "sleep") I would stop using the plastic keycards.
