Only a few threads prompted "negative" comments re: placement, three times from ozstamps, once from Beckles, who criticized the content of the post as much (if not more) than the placement of it.
Randy, in the next to last thread, wrote this:

Not sure what to do since we have a polite rule here on FlyerTalk to only post things once and then to the appropriate forum. Rule of thumb here is you have left it up to me for interpretation. I could move it to TravelBuzz! but then I'd be supported a dulplicate thread. That's not good either. So, i'm just going to lock it and hope that others will find the twin to this one in the American forum.
Again, milesbuzz! is a forum devoted specifically to topics of frequent flyer programs and their miles and points.</font>
As for a general category and its placement being a good idea because it:

I'm sorry, but I don't have any idea what that is supposed to mean. You say one should add:
<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">a General Discussion forum to the top of the page above MilesBuzz</font>
Uh, yeah, it's right there. There's an icon "Travel Buzz" at the top of my monitor. [sarcasm on] I don't know if it makes me feel enabled, but I see it. [/sarcasm on]
