http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum21/HTML/007146.html

No idea when this expires .. the offer seems to have been INCREASING all day from 1000 to 5000 to 10000 as of 10 mins back.

Just got 10,000 each for Joh and I. Foreign addresses accepted fine.

Good luck.

Thanks Glen.

Don't forget that 10,000 Delta miles can be transfered into 20,000 Hilton points, more than enough for a free room night.

I have tried many times and continually recieve a message - "Unable to process your request."

Something about this seems fishy to me.

dhacker. Yes, that aspect is outlined in quite some detail as I am sure you saw if you read the thread referenced above.

JAX flier. Why would the fact the website is clearly busy (as half of the Yahoo users are probably logging into it) make this "fishy". Cheee. Worked perfectly for me 30 seconds ago.

Offer says 10,000, but when you register the page that comes back with the SkyMiles number says only 1000 miles for enrolling.

Mile King if you spend the time to READ the referenced thread that occurs on all submissions as reported by several folks there. The offer clearly says:

Today only, earn 10,000 BONUS MILES for joining SkyMiles

Welcome to the Delta SkyMiles program. To join, simply fill out the form below, and your 10,000-mile enrollment bonus will be automatically deposited into your account. And as an added bonus, when you activate your SkyMiles membership by flying with Delta or by earning miles with any SkyMiles partner, we'll give you an additional 2,000 miles.

Worked for me - enrolled a couple of family members who are not currently DL members. The website seems to be performing fine, although the 10,000 miles don't show up instantaneously.

ozstamps, perhaps it is YOU who didn't read far enough. I saw the 10,000 miles exclusive offer note. However, if you fill out the form with your information and then press Go, you receive an enrollment page containing your new Skymiles number. That same page also says "Thank you for becoming a Skymiles member. Your 1000-mile enrollment bonus will be deposited into your account within the next four to six weeks....."

This information has come from the Sky Miles department after some digging around, at the request of a travel agent friend:-

"It is a promo from Yahoo. In order to receive the 10,000 bonus miles, one must purchase a DL ticket from Yahoo's travel site by the end of today, with travel completed by Feb 15, 2003. Once travel occurs, the 10,000 miles will be awarded. That is from Sky Miles Dept. (They were stumped and investigated the site.) So it will only be 1,000 miles unless the other requirements are met."

Let's see what happens.

What's the consensus?

Do we need to (a) purchase a flight today on Yahoo (b) purchase flowers sometime in the next few months?

Thanks.

The plain language of the web link and the confirmation page doesn't require any purchase or travel for the 10k. I'm going to go with that myself.

As mentioned just now in the delta forum, the link now mentions only 1000 miles as does the confirmation page

Has the offer gone back to 1,000 miles?

I signed up my girlfriend and myself (I usually fly Continental/Northwest and my Delta account had expired).

But now the Yahoo weblink brings up 1,000
(11:19 am PT = 2:19 pm ET). Can anyone else bring up the 10,000 offer now?

Thanks.
Mitchell
